Searcy is home to award winning Harding University and Arkansas State University-Searcy.  Five other major Universities or Colleges are located within a 50 mile radius of Searcy. 

Over the past three years our medical community has spent more than $45 million dollars on expansions and renovations. Outstanding facilities and services provided by some of the best health care professionals in the state have allowed our medical community to become a major referral site for north central Arkansas.

On October 23, 1835 the General Assembly of the Territory of Arkansas passed an act which took in 1,027 miles of lands from Independence, Pulaski, and Jackson Counties and created White County. White County is comprised of 16 communities today.
